Pre-Installation Checklist
Important
Complete all items in this checklist before proceeding with the installation. This will ensure a smooth installation process and prevent potential issues.
Ensure your server meets all hardware, software, and network requirements listed above.
Before making any changes to your Veeam server, create a backup or snapshot to allow for easy recovery if needed.
You will need your license key during installation. If you don't have one, contact your account manager.
The SupInsight Agent requires a service account with appropriate permissions to access Veeam services.
Install any pending critical Windows updates before proceeding with the installation.
Some antivirus software may interfere with the installation process. Consider temporarily disabling it.
Ensure you have downloaded the latest version of SupInsight Agent (v2.4.1) from the dashboard.
Installation Steps
Run the installer as Administrator
Locate the downloaded SupInsight_Agent_v2.4.1.exe file and right-click to select "Run as administrator".
If User Account Control (UAC) prompts for permission, click "Yes" to allow the installer to run with administrative privileges.
Welcome Screen and License Agreement
The installation wizard will launch. Click "Next" on the welcome screen, then read and accept the End User License Agreement (EULA).
Installation Directory Selection
Choose the installation directory for the SupInsight Agent. The default location is recommended, but you can change it if necessary.
Ensure the selected drive has at least 500 MB of free space. The installation directory should be on a local drive, not a network share.
License Key Activation
Enter your SupInsight license key to activate the product. If you don't have a license key, contact your account manager.
Your license key was provided in your purchase confirmation email.
Internet connectivity is required for license validation. If your server is behind a proxy, you'll be prompted to enter proxy settings.
Veeam Server Connection Configuration
Configure the connection to your Veeam Backup & Replication server. You can install the agent directly on the VBR server or connect to a remote server.
The service account must have appropriate permissions to access Veeam Backup & Replication services and databases. For detailed permission requirements, refer to the documentation.

Configure the SupInsight Agent service settings, including service account, startup type, and monitoring options.

Troubleshooting Common Issues
Agent Service Fails to Start
If the SupInsight Agent service fails to start after installation:
- Check the Windows Event Logs for specific error messages
- Verify the service account has sufficient permissions
- Ensure all prerequisites are installed correctly
- Restart the server and try starting the service again
Agent Not Appearing in Dashboard
If the agent is installed but not appearing in the SupInsight Dashboard:
- Verify the agent service is running
- Check network connectivity to SupInsight cloud services
- Ensure firewall rules allow outbound connections
- Verify the license key is valid and activated
Data Collection Issues
If the agent is connected but not collecting data properly:
